Two students from two German institutions have paid a courtesy call on the Vice- Chancellor, Professor William O. Ellis to pave way for collaborative research activities in the area of medicine with KNUST.
The Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. T. C Fleischer indicated that, in order to enhance analytical skills in Africa, students should ensure that counterfeit drugs are flushed out from the market, hence; the need to develop a project towards the cause.
Dr. Marco Schulze of the Medical Mission Institute, Warzburg in Germany explained that, his institution has a network established through its association with KNUST.
Professor Ellis commended them for their initiative and disclosed that, KNUST has over the years produced specialists in Pharmacy. He stressed the need to assist students who are into pharmaceutical studies and stated that, this could only be achieved if there are quick mechanisms for testing and the analysing pharmaceutical products.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the team to put in maximum effort amidst all challenges towards a fruitful research. He pledged the University's unflinching support for the project.
Others present included Ludwig Hoellein, Institute of Pharmacy and Food Chemistry, University of Wuerzburg; Professor T.C Fleischer, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. R.K. Adosraku.
